Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Corporate Quality to lead our organization’s quality management initiatives in our plastic manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will develop and implement comprehensive quality programs that drive operational excellence across all production facilities and ensure our plastic products consistently exceed customer expectations while meeting all industry standards and regulations.
Description
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement the overall quality strategy to support business objectives and growth
- Work closely with senior leadership to align quality goals with organizational goals
- Oversee the development and execution of quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards
- Establish clear quality goals and metrics, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives
- Lead the continuous improvement of quality management systems and processes
- Implement a culture of quality across all departments, encouraging a focus on excellence in both products and services
- Ensure that quality assurance processes, including audits, inspections, and testing, are efficient, effective, and compliant
- Manage the identification, analysis, and resolution of quality issues, ensuring timely and effective corrective actions
- Collaborate with R&D, production, engineering, and supply chain teams to drive product quality improvements
- Work with customer service teams to resolve customer complaints and ensure customer satisfaction
- Partner with regulatory affairs, legal, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to all applicable regulations and standards
- Lead, mentor, and develop the quality team, fostering a high-performance culture and driving professional development
- Set performance goals and provide regular feedback to team members to ensure growth and improvement
- Ensure the quality team has the necessary resources, training, and support to perform effectively
- Utilize data analytics to assess quality performance, identify trends, and support decision-making
- Leverage performance data to generate reports for executive leadership, identifying areas of improvement and success
- Manage quality audits and assessments, including internal and external audits, to ensure consistent and measurable improvements
- Champion customer-centric quality initiatives, ensuring products and services meet or exceed customer expectations
- Maintain and improve customer satisfaction by implementing effective quality control and assurance measures
- Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence)
- Experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing industry
- Proven experience with implementing global quality systems
- Expertise in statistical process control (SPC) and quality control techniques
- Experience with material testing, failure analysis, and root cause investigation
- Strategic thinking with the ability to align quality initiatives with manufacturing objectives
- Excellent leadership skills with experience managing diverse, cross-functional teams in manufacturing environments
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven approach to problem-solving
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Change management expertise and ability to drive cultural transformation in a manufacturing setting
- Proficiency with quality management tools, ERP systems, and manufacturing technology
- Strong business acumen and understanding of plastic manufacturing operations
- Location: Hayward, California
- Travel: 20%
- Reporting Relationship: CEO
- Team: Leads a team of 60 quality professionals across 7 manufacturing facilities
Qualifications
Education and Experience- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or Material Science Engineering; master’s degree preferred
- At least 10 years of experience in quality management, with a proven track record in leadership and strategic decision-making roles
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), industry standards (ISO, Six Sigma, etc.), and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Total Quality Management (TQM).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
